Lots of people go to school for 10 years…they’re called doctors, or in the case of Talie Jane, interior designers.
After earning a master’s degree in advertising and working in account management at small, medium and internationally renowned advertising agencies in Boston, New York and Chicago, Talie decided the ad world wasn’t for her. Instead, her life-long passion for interior design prevailed.
Four years later, she earned another undergraduate degree, in interior design, and shortly thereafter, opened Talie Jane Interiors in Chicago, her hometown. The resulting combination of management (details) and creativity (design) is unmatched and is thoroughly demonstrated in each of her design projects.
With a successful business, it was difficult for Talie to uproot to Lake Tahoe. But, she “followed a boy,” as she jokes, and made the cross-country move. “It was my husband who introduced me to Lake Tahoe and to whom I can thank for allowing me to wake up in the beauty and tranquility of this amazing place,” she says. Now, Talie gets to follow her passion every day, in one of the most majestic places on earth.
Talie lives in Lake Tahoe with her husband, two sons and furry, four-legged friend.
A mechanical engineer, designer, realtor and gourmet chef, Ryan is truly a renaissance man. But his true talents lie in customer service, collaboration, business management, logistics and relationship-building.
Ryan’s 17+ years in sales and project management has provided him the necessary tools for thoughtful problem-solving and communication. He is responsible for the fantastic deals we have procured with our vendors and the reason we can pass along unbeatable product savings to our clients.
He also happens to be Mr. Talie Jane which makes him truly accountable to the “boss” in every sense of the word.

Kaley joins the Talie Jane Interiors team as an Office Manager.
Originally from sunny Central Florida, Kaley worked with marine life at SeaWorld, Orlando as an animal psychologist. So cool!
Kaley came to Lake Tahoe over nine years ago to pursue a new sense of adventure and personal growth. Here, she acquired a strong foundation in hospitality and tourism and earned valuable tools and experience in customer service.
Kaley has always been fascinated with interior design and architecture and brings her enthusiasm, creativity and organizational skills. We are excited to have Kaley and appreciate her talents and passion.
Welcome our former rodeo barrel-racer, Alise! Born and raised in the Carson Valley, Alise has a cowgirl background and currently surrounds herself with cattle, horses, dogs and a baby goat! Not to mention, her beautiful daughters and husband.
But Alise has a design side too. She began her career in construction design, working alongside her father, Tom Smith, owner of TGS Construction, where she grew up being inspired by watching the construction progress, from start to finish. In other words, she watched as dreams unfolded into reality.
Alise lives by the mantra, “If you love your job, you will never work a day in your life.” Her passion for design allows her to continue to make dreams come true for her clients, who appreciate her dedication to designing for functionality and practicality.
Page began her career designing luxury yachts in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, a journey that took her around the world and sharpened her ability to blend elegance and functionality. She has since expanded her expertise to commercial and residential design, earning recognition for her talent in creating beautiful, aesthetic spaces that resonate with the unique language of every room.
Her work has been featured in numerous prestigious publications, including Showboats international, Motor Boating & Sailing, Tahoe Quarterly and Architectural Digest.
Beyond her design achievements, Page is known as the ultimate colorful character. Her vibrant wardrobe and eclectic jewelry reflect her spirited personality, making her as memorable as the stunning spaces she creates.
Moving from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mariah joins us after graduating from Central Michigan University where she earned her undergraduate degree in Interior Design.
Her enthusiasm for art and design started at a young age, where she attended a secondary tech center for graphic design and focused on digital media and silk screen printing. She also enjoys snowboarding, cooking and loves animals including her 4 dogs, 2 cats and ferret.
Ana, originally from Brazil, made her way to the stunning landscapes of Lake Tahoe in 2023. With a degree in Architecture and Urbanism and postgraduate studies in Project Management, she brings a unique blend of creative vision and strategic organization to every project.
Having honed her skills in architecture and design in Brazil, Ana is now channeling her expertise into the world of interior design in the US. Known for her attention to detail, she thrives at the intersection of creativity and structured project management, ensuring every design is both beautiful and thoughtfully executed.
When she’s not immersed in design, Ana loves exploring nature, traveling to new destinations, hiking the trails around Lake Tahoe, and enjoying quality time with her dog, family, and friends.
Julie is an Architectural Engineer and skilled draftsman, with over 15 years of experience in the construction and design industry. Her love of the mountains drew her and her husband from their Vegas roots to settle down in Northern Nevada. Julie brings experience in structural engineering, residential remodeling, electrical and lighting design, as well as plans production and coordination.
TJI welcomes a hockey family to the team; Julie and her family love travelling for sports and special events, and you will always find her with her family on the trails or at the beach!
A proud 34-year local resident of Lake Tahoe, Zoltan brings a wealth of experience and a results-driven mindset to every project. With expertise across all trades of construction, he tackles challenges head-on, delivering top-notch results with precision, timeliness, and quality craftsmanship.
Detail-oriented and committed to excellence, Zoltan always puts clients first, ensuring their vision comes to life seamlessly. Having worked alongside Talie and Ryan for over a decade, he’s a trusted professional dedicated to making every project a success.

Seth grew up just outside Boston, Massachusetts, and began working in the trades at age 16. After moving to California in 1997, he settled in South Lake Tahoe, where he discovered a passion for carpentry and woodworking.
Seth specializes in finish carpentry and cabinetry and is known for his exceptional attention to detail. A professional saxophonist for over 30 years, he also performs locally with his band, Mescalito. Having lived in Tahoe for more than half his life, Seth brings a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, creativity, and the outdoor lifestyle to the Talie Jane family.

Reed is a highly sought after carpenter and plumber from Maine with a career rooted in craftsmanship, precision, and service. A U.S. Navy veteran and graduate of Eastern Maine Tech with a degree in Plumbing Technology, he brings decades of experience to every project. Reed successfully ran his own plumbing company for several years before spending over 30 years with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace, where he dedicated 27 years to quality control. Before joining the Talie Jane Construction team, he served as Resort Engineer at Edgewood Tahoe. Outside of work, Reed is an avid fisherman, hunter, and sports enthusiast, and proudly gives a special shout-out to his wonderful wife, Amber.
Shawn is a third-generation contractor from the Tahoe Basin who grew up learning the trade alongside his father. With 30+ years of experience, he specializes in the installation, sanding, staining, and finishing of custom wood floors, staircases, cabinetry, and fine finish carpentry.
He also spent four years in Hawaii working with exotic hardwoods on custom projects for high-profile clients including Larry Ellison, Carlos Santana, and Brad Murphy.
Shawn later founded Tahoe Envy Wood Floors, one of the region’s leading flooring companies, and now lends his skills to Talie Jane Interiors to help create exceptional interiors throughout Lake Tahoe and Sonoma.
Natalie is a Kitchen and Bath Designer with over 20 years of experience creating beautiful, functional spaces tailored to each client’s lifestyle. She earned her BSD in Interior Design from the University of Nebraska and has built her career helping homeowners bring their ideas to life through thoughtful planning and creative problem-solving.
She specializes in smart space planning and out-of-the-box solutions that make kitchens and bathrooms both practical and inspiring. Natalie believes great design starts with understanding how people live in their homes and works closely with clients to create spaces that feel personal, natural, and timeless.
What Natalie enjoys most about her work is the collaborative process, working closely with clients to transform ideas into spaces that feel natural, personal, and timeless.
Outside of work, Natalie enjoys kiteboarding, yoga, and traveling the world with her family, drawing inspiration from the places and cultures she discovers along the way.
