The South Meadow project captures Talie Jane Interiors’ ability to thoughtfully elevate a traditional Tahoe residence into a warm and refined home. Upon entry, the design team preserved the timeless brick flooring while modernizing the space—removing dated wood paneling and introducing recessed lighting to brighten the area. Built-in cabinetry and multifunctional benches seamlessly blend form and function, offering organized, welcoming storage for an active household. Across the home, updated details and material selections forge a cohesive look that honors the client’s vision and the mountain setting.

Inside the primary bathroom, Talie Jane Interiors created a spa-like polished retreat by layering textures and finishes. Crisp subway-style tile pairs with dark grout or contrasting patterned tile to lend both depth and a sophisticated edge. Matte or brushed fixtures echo the home’s refined character, while custom floating vanities offer both sleek aesthetics and practical storage .

Carefully curated lighting enhances the mood—soft LED sconces or linear staging above sleek mirrors ensure a relaxing ambiance. The shower area feels elevated through thoughtfully placed niches, glass accents, and tile patterns that draw the eye—and add visual interest without sacrificing elegance. All design touches emphasize simplicity infused with intentional detail.

The secondary bath—whether a guest or shared family space—balances clean lines with approachable warmth. Wood-tone cabinetry anchors the design, while white or pale-toned countertops lighten the palette. A thoughtfully sized mirror with a minimalist frame provides visual clarity and focus. Detail is added through brushed fixtures and subtle tile accents that coordinate with adjacent spaces for visual flow Talie Jane Interiors.

The shower or tub surround incorporates tile work that is both durable and decorative—perhaps with linear shower tile layout or a modest mosaic niche as punctuation. The overall aesthetic feels fresh and livable, consistent with South Meadow’s aesthetic of layered but easy elegance.

Your Questions, Answered

Find quick answers to the most common questions about our services and process.
What services does Talie Jane Interiors offer?

Talie Jane delivers award-winning, full-service interior design with a thoughtful approach to every detail, from custom cabinetry and window treatments to beautifully organized closet systems.

What areas do you serve?

We’re based on the southeast shore of Lake Tahoe, with our office in Stateline, NV. We proudly serve the entire Lake Tahoe region — including Reno, Carson City, Truckee — and beyond into Napa and Sonoma County.

When is the best time to hire an interior designer?

The earlier, the better! Ideally, bring us in during initial planning or even before starting a renovation/build. That way, we can collaborate with architects and builders, save you from costly redesigns, and ensure cohesive, efficient results.

What is the difference between an interior designer and an interior decorator?

A decorator focuses on styling—furniture, accessories, finishes. In contrast, an interior designer combines aesthetics with technical and structural knowledge: space planning, materials, building codes, and CAD drawings. Designers shape your space; decorators style it.

How is billing and pricing handled?

We take a different approach than traditional interior designers. Rather than marking up the cost of goods for added commission, we prioritize transparency by passing our trade discounts directly to our clients, often resulting in savings that exceed the cost of our design services.
