Trend #1: Spiky Textures
Spiky textures, found in everything from furniture to wall decor, add a dramatic flair to rooms. These sharp, angular details create depth and movement, breaking up flat surfaces and making a space feel dynamic. Spiky textures inject fresh energy and visual interest into modern interiors, offering an exciting blend of tactile appeal and emotional depth. Texture plays a powerful role in evoking emotions, and spiky designs tend to bring a sense of boldness and playfulness to a room, giving it a more energetic and engaging atmosphere.

Trend #2: Terrazzo

Terrazzo continues its comeback with a modern twist. Known for durability and versatility, terrazzo brings both vintage charm and contemporary style to any space. With a range of colors and creative patterns, terrazzo can be used in everything from floors, countertops, furniture and even mimicked in fabrics, offering both texture and artistry. This material blends timeless appeal with trendy vibes, effortlessly complementing various design styles while making a statement in any room.
Trend #3: 45-Degree Sofas
The 45-degree angled sofa is a standout trend, redefining how we think of seating. Moving away from traditional rectangular sofas, this angular design injects dynamic energy into spaces, creating a striking focal point.
Perfect for spaces that demand a bit of flair, these sofas have become increasingly popular in upscale environments, such as trendy lounges, luxury hotels, and residential interiors. Positioned to capture sweeping views or accentuate minimalist interiors, these pieces elevate spaces, proving that artistic design and comfort can exist harmoniously.

Trend #4: Mushrooms

Mushrooms have become an unexpected yet captivating design trend for 2024-2025, combining organic shapes with bold, contemporary flair. Picture mushroom-shaped lamps that cast a soft, ambient glow or plush, curved sofas that echo nature’s whimsical designs.
Trend #5: Cheetahs, Horses and Octopuses, Oh My!
Animals were prevalent at this year’s market, as they always are. I’m not referring to tag-along pets or animal prints, although there was some of that as well. I’m referring to animals being features on pillows and wallcoverings and displayed as statues and artwork. The dominant species? Cheetahs, horses and believe it or not, octopuses!

Trend #6: Upholstered Furniture Legs

Equally captivating are the upholstered furniture legs making waves this season. Gone are the days of simple, traditional legs. Designers are embracing bold, sculptural legs that make furniture feel like art. Whether it’s plush, upholstered legs that add softness to a piece or more intricate, geometric designs, this detail brings a modern twist to classic furniture pieces, blending function and form in a way that enhances the overall design. And why not with all of the amazing fabrics we saw? Dining chairs, benches and ottomans all featured this new trend.
Maybe next year, we’ll see legs upholstered in accented fabrics, different from the chairs themselves. Either way, we’re loving this idea.
Trend #7: A Return to the 70’s
One thing is clear; 70’s vibes are back and bolder than ever! From groovy color palettes to funky furniture shapes, the spirit of the disco era is making a triumphant return. Round and kidney-shaped furniture pieces are at the forefront of this revival. The iconic kidney-shaped sofas and rounded chairs of the era are making their way back into modern interiors, giving spaces a laid-back yet stylish vibe that encourages relaxation and conversation.
Complementing these shapes are the signature colors of the 70’s: earthy tones like burnt orange, mustard yellow, olive green, and deep browns, combined with bold patterns and textures that remind us of the carefree, groovy days of the past. These pieces are all about creating spaces that feel vibrant, fun, and full of personality. The 70’s are here, and they’re bringing all the color, shape, and flair we’ve been waiting for!

Trend #8: Bullnose Edges

We’re taking a fun trip down memory lane to a classic, somewhat old-school style that’s making its way back to the forefront: Bullnose edges. Known for their smooth, rounded edges and soft curves, bullnose edges bring a sense of softness and elegance back into dining spaces, living rooms, and beyond. The graceful, almost sculptural lines of these tables create a welcoming, timeless aesthetic that works perfectly with both modern and vintage-inspired interiors.
Trend #9: Three-Legged Chairs
Much like the 70’s resurgence, these designs are making a bold return, and Mariah saw this trend pop up in a variety of forms throughout the market. Alongside these tables, pedestal chairs are also making a strong comeback. With their sleek, solid bases and unique silhouettes, pedestal chairs bring a modern twist to classic shapes, often paired with luxurious upholstery for added sophistication. These two trends are a perfect reflection of the playful, retro vibes of the 70’s, giving interiors a mix of vintage charm and contemporary flair. They’re the perfect pieces to bring both style and personality into any space, proving that some classics never go out of style.
