Spice Up Your Foyer

Look to sunny days ahead and reinvigorate your entryway with cheery colors and vibrant designs. Below are some bright ideas for giving your entryway a new attitude.

TIP #1
Use a runner in the entry to give structure to the transitional space and also provide a padded walkway from the front door. Choose a neutral color to mask the dirt and wear of heavy foot traffic. Screen Shot 2015-01-16 at 11.15.15 AM

TIP #2
Don’t neglect your walls. Hang a favorite painting or an eye-catching photograph for artful impact in your foyer. It adds a lively and personal touch to the practical spot.

TIP #3
Keep a colorful basket—one just large enough to hold catalogs and magazines—in your entry exclusively for sorting mail. It’s a stylish way of staying organized and leaving no paper trail.

Tip #4
A statement-making open-base console allows you to stow a stylish garden stool (or two) underneath. Ideal for holding coats, bags, and even a few accents, the stool is also perfect for perching on as you put on and take off shoes.
