The vision for Five Creek was rooted in creating a home that feels both approachable and polished. Talie Jane Interiors worked closely with the homeowner to establish a design direction that honors the architecture of the residence while introducing layers of texture and thoughtful details. A neutral yet nuanced palette forms the foundation of the design, allowing natural light, materials, and architectural features to take center stage. The intent was to craft a narrative that feels timeless and tailored, blending contemporary influences with classic design sensibilities. Each room was considered not only as an individual space but as part of a unified whole, resulting in an interior that feels seamless and intentional.

In the master bedroom, the design centers on comfort and serenity, creating a retreat that promotes rest and relaxation. Talie Jane Interiors selected furnishings and finishes that balance softness with structure — plush textiles, warm yet restrained color tones, and custom details that elevate the space without overwhelming it. The layout was carefully planned to maximize circulation and sightlines, and layered lighting was incorporated to offer both functional illumination and ambient warmth. Thoughtful integration of storage, seating, and soft materials enhances the bedroom’s function as a personal sanctuary, marrying practicality with refined design.

The master bath at Five Creek extends the design language of the adjacent bedroom while incorporating materials and fixtures suited for daily use. Talie Jane Interiors emphasized a spa-like quality through the selection of stone, tile, and metal finishes that offer both visual richness and durability. Clean lines and thoughtful detailing in cabinetry and hardware contribute to an uncluttered feel, while layered lighting supports daily routines and enhances ambiance. Practical elements — such as integrated storage, well-placed mirrors, and thoughtfully contrasted finishes — ensure that the space performs beautifully in everyday life while maintaining a sense of luxury.

What areas do you serve?

We’re based on the southeast shore of Lake Tahoe, with our office in Stateline, NV. We proudly serve the entire Lake Tahoe region — including Reno, Carson City, Truckee — and beyond into Napa and Sonoma County.

When is the best time to hire an interior designer?

The earlier, the better! Ideally, bring us in during initial planning or even before starting a renovation/build. That way, we can collaborate with architects and builders, save you from costly redesigns, and ensure cohesive, efficient results.

What is the difference between an interior designer and an interior decorator?

A decorator focuses on styling—furniture, accessories, finishes. In contrast, an interior designer combines aesthetics with technical and structural knowledge: space planning, materials, building codes, and CAD drawings. Designers shape your space; decorators style it.

How is billing and pricing handled?

We take a different approach than traditional interior designers. Rather than marking up the cost of goods for added commission, we prioritize transparency by passing our trade discounts directly to our clients, often resulting in savings that exceed the cost of our design services.
