The master bedroom at Mill Race Loop was envisioned as a tranquil sanctuary that balances serene comfort with refined style. Talie Jane Interiors began by establishing a calming color palette designed to foster rest and relaxation, incorporating soft neutrals, layered textures and tailored lighting to enhance ambiance. Every element — from upholstered headboards to subtle accent textiles — was chosen to create a cohesive, soothing environment. The furniture layout was carefully planned to maximize both function and flow, allowing for an intimate and uncluttered space that feels both personal and sophisticated. Lighting was layered with ambient, task, and accent fixtures to ensure flexibility for reading, dressing and relaxing. The result is a master suite that feels like a true retreat within the home.

In the adjacent master bathroom, Talie Jane Interiors delivered a space that harmonizes spa-like tranquility with everyday functionality. Finishes such as polished stone, custom cabinetry and fine metal hardware were selected for their elegance and durability. The layout was refined to improve ease of movement and usability, with attention to clear sightlines and practical storage. Design decisions balanced aesthetic appeal with comfort, incorporating heated flooring surfaces, layered lighting and textured tiles that add visual richness without overwhelming the space. The palette complements the master suite, creating continuity while differentiating the bathroom as its own calming environment.

Beyond core fixtures, the Mill Race Loop bathroom embraces thoughtful details that elevate daily routines. A custom vanity with integrated storage solutions keeps essentials organized yet out of sight. Lighting design blends task and ambient options for an adaptable experience throughout the day. Fixtures and finishes such as brushed metal accents and natural stone surfaces introduce subtle contrasts that feel timeless. Careful attention to texture and proportion ensures the space is inviting and refined, offering both a serene start to the day and a quiet place to unwind at night.

What areas do you serve?

We’re based on the southeast shore of Lake Tahoe, with our office in Stateline, NV. We proudly serve the entire Lake Tahoe region — including Reno, Carson City, Truckee — and beyond into Napa and Sonoma County.

When is the best time to hire an interior designer?

The earlier, the better! Ideally, bring us in during initial planning or even before starting a renovation/build. That way, we can collaborate with architects and builders, save you from costly redesigns, and ensure cohesive, efficient results.

What is the difference between an interior designer and an interior decorator?

A decorator focuses on styling—furniture, accessories, finishes. In contrast, an interior designer combines aesthetics with technical and structural knowledge: space planning, materials, building codes, and CAD drawings. Designers shape your space; decorators style it.

How is billing and pricing handled?

We take a different approach than traditional interior designers. Rather than marking up the cost of goods for added commission, we prioritize transparency by passing our trade discounts directly to our clients, often resulting in savings that exceed the cost of our design services.
