Las Vegas Market Trends 2024

The Talie Jane Team recently returned from the Las Vegas Market with a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. The Las Vegas Market is a highly anticipated event in the world of interior design. It serves as a hub for industry professionals to gather and explore the latest trends, products, and innovations. During our trip, we were exposed to a wide range of new interior design trends that are set to make waves in the coming months. From the resurgence of the 70s, and warm color palettes to innovative furniture designs, there was no shortage of inspiration at this year’s Las Vegas Market.

Return to the 70’s

Last year’s market showcased a throwback to the 70’s and that movement was even more predominant this year.

  • The return of earthy color schemes
    • Green, Blue, and Rust
  • Spherical decorative pillows
  • Brass accents and lighting
  • Curves/waves in furnishings, lighting and accessories

This photo, taken at SunPan, reflects the true 70’s flashback.

Modified Boucle

Another repeat market trend is Boucle – a soft yet lumpy woven fabric that grew extremely popular in the 1940s.
The difference is that this year, Boucle has been slightly modified – showcased in patterns, upholstered on more contemporary furniture pieces and a bit more refined.
A perfect example? This Barrow round dining chair from Moe’s Home Collection.

Travertine

Travertine stones are seashells that have been compressed to form a mineral deposit. The deposits, which have a beautiful appearance, are made of compacted limestone.

Travertine has been used for centuries because it is a tough material that lasts and looks sophisticated. It provides an elegant look with its natural variations in color and was absolutely everywhere at market!

Trending Chairs

Curvy Chairs

  • Curved furniture is one of the hottest new trends in interior design, and it’s enjoying a in popularity lately.
  • Adding a few curved accent chairs can help to break up a straight-lined furniture layout. The chairs can provide a softening effect and can also be used as an anchor for other pieces of furniture.

Modern Recliners

  • While the sound of a recliner doesn’t sound fabulous, we were surprised at the amount of reclining sofas we saw at the market…most of which we couldn’t tell were recliners until we sat in them and noticed the mechanics. We finally have pretty alternatives to the old fashioned “Laz-y-Boy!”

Swivel / Wheeled Chairs

• Caster dining chairs, also known as rolling or wheeled dining chairs, are chairs fitted with wheels that allow you to smoothly glide them into place. With the right rolling dining armchair, you can instantly transform your dining room setup into a mobile and comfortable eating space.
• One of the main reasons people choose caster dining chairs is the increased mobility they offer. Wheels make it a breeze to pull chairs in and out from the table, reposition seating, and even use them at alternate tables or counters
• Almost every chair we sat in (which was a lot), was a swivel chair! Perfect for Tahoe where we want to enjoy mountain and lake views, warm by the fire, participate in conversation and watch TV all at the same time!

Two-Toned Chairs

  • Another trend we noticed at the market was mismatched fabric. One side of the chair would have a solid or textured fabric, and the back side featured a complementing fabric.

Burl Wood

It refers to a deformation in wood growth found on certain tree species. It is unique and has a knotted-grain look. Since they are often old growth, they have no sapwood.

Beaded Accessories

This trend incorporates beads into various spaces within a home or commercial setting. It came from a variety of design styles, including bohemian, eclectic, coastal and global influences.

Woven Leather

Leather has been used throughout the years since it’s a popular material choice in interior design for it ‘s luxurious and tactile qualities. However, this year comes in stronger.
