Modernism Week is a world-class, eleven-day celebration of midcentury modern design, architecture, art, fashion, and culture in Greater Palm Springs. Each year, more than 120,000 attendees participate in over 350 events. And, this year, I was one of them!I was honored to have been invited by our partner, Ferguson, an acclaimed wholesale distributor of plumbing, HVAC, waterworks and supplies. Such a treat! (1) THE NEED The need for aging in place is significant and is becoming even more so. Senior citizens make up the country’s fastest-growing population, according to the latest U.S. census results. They’re outpacing the growth of the general population at a rate of 15.1 percent to 9.7 percent, and the total number of individuals over 65 is projected to nearly double before 2050! According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 1 in 6 will be age 60 or older by 2030.
